On your next camping trip, shelter yourself (and a friend or nine) in style with the Ozark Trail 10-Person, 3-Room Cabin Tent. Designed with privacy in mind, this sweet tent offers three separate living spaces that you can combine by removing the room dividers, so it's great for families or groups of friends. In addition, this instant cabin tent has three points of entry, one in the center and one on either side; no more tripping over your friends on a late-night bathroom run. Airy and spacious, it also has six windows and a mesh roof for proper ventilation and panoramic views. The tent measures 20 feet x 10 feet, so it offers enough space to accommodate up to three queen size air mattresses.

It also comes with an ePort, mud mat and convenient shoe storage, so you can easily enforce that 'no muddy shoes allowed in the tent' rule. The Ozark Trail 10-Person 3-Room Cabin Tent is easy to assemble and includes a zippered carry bag for nearly effortless transport. I recently went camping with my family in St Andrews Park. It was the first family trip in years, and we have never been camping. I didn't know what to expect most people had big campers, but we where happy with our tent. The first night it was unbearably cold even with a medium sized space heater.
The winds were howling and the temperature dropped to about 40 degrees. The next day my husband got a tarp (24 x 12 ft) to over the top of the tent. Thanks Walmart for being every where!!! I also pinned some emergency blankets to the top of the tent to keep the draft out. With the emergency blankets, extra tarp, and space heater the next night we slept well. The tent held my 6'4' husband comfortably, me, 3 yr old toddler, two teenagers, and all of our stuff. This is a great tent!!! I think we have started a family tradition.
My sisters are planning to go with us next year and I encourage them to buy this tent. It is everything they say it is. I bought this tent for camping at the lake. Took my dad and I about 25 minutes to set it up (Would have been faster, however we put the top part on wrong and had to re-do it). We set it up at home to check it out and Me, my neice & my dog ended up camping out in the backyard. It ended up being very windy and rainy that night and the tent stayed secure and dry all night. I absolutely love how huge this tent is.
Only bad thing I have to say about it, is the 'room dividers' are no good. They are totally see-thru and do not even reach the roof. Definitely not good if you need privacy. But overall this is a good buy, and you cant beat the price.
(Trust me, I know! I searched for months and compared prices from many different stores before chosing this tent).
I intentionally read the 1 star reviews before buying and most centered around people struggling to set it up and or getting wet. 1) Spend a couple minutes reading the instructions before your camping trip. This tent is not difficult however, there are details that you might not easily comprehend while it's hot outside and you're ready to have this thing set up. Test assembly took less than 15 minutes and my girlfriend has never assembled a tent before in her life. 2) The instructions reccomend applying a seam sealer to improve the weather resistance. Seasoned campers already know this but to the novice this can be a GAME CHANGER. A $5 can of Atsko Silicone Water-Guard also available on this site can be that ounce of prevention that saves you tons of heartache and pain.
Needless to say I bought a can and used it. After reading the instructions, assembly and sealing the seams and rainfly the next 4 days were the where this product really shined. The 1st day was beautiful weather followed buy three days of rain. Some showers light but some on the rather heavy side. Not a drop, not one single teeny tiny drop inside my tent. Keeping your clothes, bedding, electronics gear, etc.
Is the name of the game when camping and this tent held up beautifully. Additionally the roominess and headspace clearance was nice. Being 6'1' tall and not having to crouch feels great. Attached photo after 3 days of rain in back yard testing. 'I am posting this review as part of my entry in Walmart's Ozark Trail Ratings and Reviews Contest.' With that said, it has nothing to with the rating of my review. We had this tent for 3 years and it never let me down.
It was simple to put up. I had set it up multiple times by myself. ( I am a small, 5'2' female) The only part that was time consuming for me was putting on the rain fly and that was due to my height. I did prepare my tent by adding a waterproof spray coating and seam sealer. The tent itself never leaked. The only time water got in the tent was during a very heavy rainstorm and that was due to puddles that accumulated in depressions in the ground underneath.
Even then, the amount of water in the tent was minimal. It was very spacious; We easily fit our 3 cots, 5 dogs, 2 suitcases/bags, a small foldable end table, three chairs, and we still had room to move around. We would still have it, but it turns out it will not withstand 3 big dogs plowing into it full speed after a squirrel. The room dividers were a great addition for temporary privacy for getting dressed. The only part my husband didn't like was that he wasn't able to stand straight up anywhere except in the middle section. That is why we are now looking at straight sided tents, but it will still be an Ozark tent.
It was a great tent for our family while it lasted.
. 1 Answer SOURCE: I have this tent and have successfully put it up a few times.
It's a big tent but it's frustrating to put up sometimes. Plan on having several people to help you. I find that it greatly helps if there are a total of 3-4 of you. The poles are color coded.
The center support are red rods. The two side supports are blue with the graphite looking rod that goes through the tent. Spread the tent out on the ground and try to square it up and make it even. Run the center pole through the top and connect to the curved pieces which then connect to red dot poles on the side. Hoist the whole thing up. Have two people hold those poles for a while.
Get the bue poles into the black couplings and put the graphite looking rod through the tent. It will be a little tight. Hoist the blue poles into position. The bottom of the blue dot poles should be about two feet from the center.
They extend outwards at about a 30 degree angle. Keep your center people holding the center poles and let the two blue dot pole section extend outwards. You'll start to see a tent shape. Your center holder people may need to keep and eye on the poles. Now, start trying to get some stakes in. Work the corners.
Once those are in and things start getting tight, it should start to hold on its own. Work all the stakes in and make adjustments to all the poles as necessary. Dickie seat installers brisbane. Extend the red dot poles up until the roof is at the proper height.
I tend to do this last. The fly basic basically clips on into holes on the blue dot poles. It's kind of a pain to set up but its a big tent and works well once it is up. I took a ton of pictures after I got it up the first time. As I took it down, I shot the pictures.
Then, I reverse the order and printed them to a book and now sort of use that as my manual. Posted on Jun 22, 2010. Videos here. www.youtube.com/watch?v=HOVGTmbKEZ0. BY NICK CRISCIONE. 5 MIN. 86K VIEWS 2013-06-13 Video embedded Ozark trail 8-person instant tent Nick Criscione.

Put a pole through one of the center sleeves. This will put the pole through the five-way center hub of the tent.
Repeat this step with each of the four remaining main poles. Flex all of the poles gently into an arch, securing each end on opposite pin-rings at the base of the tent.
These rings have a straight side that fits directly into the bottom of the poles. Move the fabric along the poles so it is evenly distributed.
Ozark Trail Dome Tent Instructions
This will keep the tent at an even height and not lopsided as well as keep the fabric intact. Snap the quick clips on the tent body to the rest of the poles. This pulls the tent up, into the dome shape. Extend the side tent poles and place them near the places they will need to be installed.
Push each pole through a side pole sleeve. These are the smaller sleeves that remain empty after the main tent poles have been inserted.
Secure the ends in the pin-rings at the base of the tent. These will be the leftover rings from the main tent poles. These poles slide into all the second rings at the base of the tent. Snap the quick clips on the poles to give the tent shape. Rainfly Assembly Extend the rainfly pole. Push the rainfly pole through the sleeve on the bottom side of the rainfly. Place the rainfly, pole side down, over the tent.
The position should be centered over the front door. Push the pole tips into the metal grommets or 'eyes' on the front pole sleeves. Connect the S-hooks to each corresponding fabric loop. The loops and S-clips are color coded so that you will know you have put the rainfly on correctly.
Adjust the nylon straps to have the correct amount of tension on the rainfly. Depending on the wind, you might want it to be tighter.

An unexpected camping trip sent me shopping for a small tent just before the Fourth of July weekend. I had no time for comparison shopping, and the rush of eager campers left the shelves almost empty, so I grabbed the 9ft x 8 ft “Ozark Trail Sports Dome Tent”. It was adequate, and inexpensive. Ozark Trail Sports Dome Tent Specifications: Size: 9ft x 8 ft floor Price: about $30 on sale Structure: It’s the familiar dome tent, supported by flexible external rods that slide through sleeves to hold the fabric up. It has a separate rain fly that can be removed for maximum ventilation. Capacity: The tent supposedly sleeps 3 to 4 persons. Realistically, 2 adults can be comfortable lying down in the tent, as long as they are good friends and don’t mind having to crawl on their hands and knees to get in and out.
It’s more suited to be a children’s tent. Rainproof or not? Ozark Trail recommends that you seal the seams before using the tent, using a commercially available seam sealant meant for tents and outdoor gear. We didn’t have time to seal the seams.
Ozark Trail Dome Connection Tent
It rained every day. The tent leaked, but only a few drops, during a light rainfall. I strongly recommend you take the time to seal the seams on the rain fly. The Good and the Bad about the Ozark Trail Sports Dome Tent: BAD: The tent has a maximum 4 foot peak height. Unless you are short, you can’t sit up without bumping your head. The only place the tent is 4 feet high is right in the center of the floor.
The height quickly decreases towards the edges. We would have been more comfortable in a tent with steeper sides and a higher ceiling. GOOD: The setup for the Ozark Trail Sports Dome Tent was easy. The tent has the usual flexible rod supports, the instructions are adequate, and the illustrations of the rod placement were accurate. However, I wish they had included instructions for taking the tent down and refolding it, because we couldn’t get it to fit back into its carrying case. BAD: The stakes that come with the Ozark Trail Sports Dome Tent are nothing more than L-shaped lightweight metal rods.
The stakes are difficult to pound into the dirt, and are not very secure. Any sporting goods store will have inexpensive plastic stakes with a flat top that are easier to handle. I recommend buying them. GOOD: The tent has what the manufacturer calls “foot lockers”, two little wings next to the door with separate zippered openings. This is convenient for storing hiking shoes or snacks because you don’t have to open the main tent door.
BAD: The tent’s door mat was useless. It’s just a flap of material and didn’t do much to keep the interior of the tent clean. The next time we go camping, we’ll pack a regular doormat. CONCLUSIONS: The Ozark Trail Sports Dome Tent is an adequate, inexpensive tent for summer camping in mild climates. I wouldn’t want to be in it during a windy rainstorm because the rain fly barely covers the ventilation panels. It has too much screening to be useful for fall or winter camping, unless you like sleeping in cold drafty places.
